As previously referred to in the reply to parliamentary question no. 882 of the 14thof February, the Deputy's question regarding the licensing of the site is more appropriately directed to Inland Fisheries Ireland who are responsible for protecting, managing and conserving Ireland's inland fisheries.

Inland Fisheries Ireland (IFI) is currently operating the hatchery to which the Deputy is referring in accordance with a licence granted to it on the 7thof December 2017 under the Fisheries (Amendment) Act 1997. Pursuant to Section 16(1) of the 1997 Act that license is binding on the State and on all persons and operates to, inter alia, enable the licensee carry on such operations as are specified in the licence.
