Humanitarian Aid is a scheme under the Supplementary Welfare Allowance schemes.
It is a demand-led scheme, payable to persons to prevent hardship by providing income tested financial support to people affected by flooding and other severe weather events and who are not in a position to meet costs for essential needs, household items and, in some instances, structural repair.
2023 Budget Allocation | €000 |
---|---|
Humanitarian Aid | 200 |
There is no capital element to the estimate or expenditure.
I hope this clarifies the matter for the Deputy.
