As the Minister for Transport, I have responsibility for policy and overall funding in relation to public transport; however, I am not involved in the day-to-day operations of public transport.

The query raised regarding of the number of passengers on the Cork-Mallow Railway line from September 2nd, 2021, to January 24th, 2022, and the numbers from September 2nd, 2022, to January 24th, 2023, is an operational matter for Iarnród Éireann in conjunction with the National Transport Authority (NTA) and I have therefore forwarded the Deputy's question to Iarnród Éireann for direct reply. Please advise my private office if you do not receive a response within ten working days.
