68. To ask the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport if he will survey the use and demand on the current 13.35 Dublin Connolly to Rosslare Europort train service; if there are any current considerations to increase the number of carriages on the service; and if he will make a statement on the matter. As the Minister for Transport, I have responsibility for policy and overall funding in relation to public transport; however, I am not involved in the day-to-day operations of public transport.

The issue of the surveying of rail passenger demand and the amendment of rail services is an operational matter for Iarnród Éireann in conjunction with the National Transport Authority and I have therefore forwarded the Deputy's question to both Iarnród Éireann and the NTA for direct reply.

Please advise my private office if you do not receive a response within ten working days.
