Since 1stJune, 2017, all children for whom a Domiciliary Care Allowance is paid qualify automatically for a medical card without the requirement of a financial assessment.

In order for a child, who does not already hold a medical card, to be registered onto this scheme it is the responsibility of the parent/guardian of the child to register their child by completing an online or manual application form.
