291. To ask the Minister for Housing, Planning, and Local Government if his Department will urgently correspond with an organisation (details supplied) regarding two derelict properties which are owned at a location; and if he will ensure that the organisation carries out repairs as a matter of urgency and brings these properties back into use as rentals for those on the social housing list. Where an approved housing body has purchased or constructed housing, the responsibility for management and maintenance of the housing is a matter for them, in conjunction with the local authority. My Department will engage with the local authority in relation to the homes referred to in the question with a view to having them brought back into productive use and to reinforce the point that any vacant social homes in any local authority area should be addressed.
