To ask the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine the reason that an incorrect figure of €15,600, which included coursing pups, for the number of pups born in 2019 was provided by Rásaíocht Con Éireann to the author of a report (details supplied); and if he will make a statement on the matter. Rásaíocht Con Éireann (RCÉ) is a commercial state body, established under the Greyhound Industry Act, 1958 chiefly to control greyhound racing and to improve and develop the greyhound industry. RCÉ is a body corporate and a separate legal entity to the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine.

The question raised by the Deputy is an operational matter for RCÉ and, therefore, the question has been referred to the body for direct reply.

RCÉ is a body corporate and a separate legal entity to the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine.

RCÉ’s Annual Report and Accounts for 2021, incorporating the Report of the Comptroller and Auditor General on the Accounts, were noted by Government on 14th September 2022 and laid before both Houses of the Oireachtas on 15th September 2022. They were subsequently published on RCÉ’S website.
