102. To ask the Minister for Education and Skills if she will provide details regarding the outcome of rechecks undertaken in respect of Leaving Certificate examination papers this year; the number of examination papers which were upgraded; if her attention has been drawn to the delay that the rechecking of examination papers this year has caused problems for many students applying for higher education courses, particularly those students who subsequently obtained higher points resulting in new offers been made to them but which could not be easily taken up given that they had already accepted their initial offers and had started their courses, and that some students subsequently were advised that they now qualified for their courses but that there was no availability for the current year; and if she will make a statement on the matter.
