To ask the Minister for Education and Skills the engagement that he has had with the Minister for Children, Equality, Disability, Inclusion and Youth in relation to ensuring that Ukrainian refugees are supported in attending further and higher education, particularly in relation to accommodation; and if he will make a statement on the matter. My officials are in touch with their colleagues in the Department of Children, Equality, Disability, Inclusion and Youth, who have primary responsibility for the provision of short-term emergency accommodation for displaced Ukrainians in Ireland. They have advised that, given the challenging environment in which it is currently operating, it not in a position to provide bespoke accommodation solutions to displaced persons unless they are deemed medically vulnerable.
