640. To ask the Tánaiste and Minister for Justice and Equality further to Parliamentary Question No. 538 of 4 October 2022, if a person or organisation under the aegis of her Department maintains a record of the information sought with respect to deportations under the relevant legislative sub-sections; if she will seek to obtain that information and provide same; and if she will make a statement on the matter. I can advise the deputy that my Department can only provide the overall annual total for all deportation orders made in a particular year. The figures are not further broken down into the various sub-categories provided for in the relevant legislation, as outlined out in the Deputy’s Parliamentary Question No. 538 of 4 October 2022

As the response to your previous question on this matter indicates, this would require the manual examination of many thousands of cases. Such an examination would require a disproportionate amount of time and effort and could not be justified in current circumstances where there are other significant demands on resources.
