To ask the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine further to Parliamentary Question No. 888 of 14 July 2022, the manner in which a farmer can demonstrate that hens are accessing the full range area necessary to meet the threshold set out in Annex II of Commission Regulation No. 589/2008; if photographic or video evidence is sufficient; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Commission Regulation (EC) No. 589/2008 places an obligation on my Department to determine compliance with the legislative requirements. 

Once the producer is satisfied that the production meets the requirements of the legislation as regards the marketing standards for eggs, in particular in this case, in terms of birds accessing the full range area, they can contact my Department who will arrange the necessary inspection to verify compliance with the legislation.
