As the Minister for Transport, I have responsibility for policy and overall funding in relation to public transport; however, I am not involved in the day-to-day operation of public transport.
The issue raised in relation to the issuing of a fine for not tagging on the Luas is a matter for Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII), the agency with responsibility for the Luas operator Transdev. Therefore, I have forwarded the Deputy's question to the TII for direct reply. Please advise my private office if a response is not received within ten working days.
