I wrote to the CEO of the HSE requesting that he send in an expert team to ascertain urgently what additional resources might be deployed, as well as any changes that could be made quickly to alleviate the current pressures. I stressed that it is very important that the management and the clinicians at University Hospital Limerick get all of the support that they possibly need. The review will take place from Friday 13thMay 2022 to Friday 10thJune 2022. I understand that the team has been on site and will be back for two days next week.
As this is now a service matter, I have asked the Health Service Executive to respond to the deputy directly, as soon as possible.
