To ask the Minister for Education and Skills the latest average class size figure for primary schools in Ireland for 2021 and 2022 academic years (details supplied); if the average class size has reduced from 23.3 as detailed in her Department’s statistical bulletin from December 2021. The average primary class size for academic year 2020-2021 was 23.3 as published in the Statistical Bulletin-July 2021, link below;  .

We expect to publish the final primary enrolments for 2021-2022 including class tables by the end of June 2022.

We will then be in a position to provide the average primary class size for 2021-2022.
