60. To ask the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport the timeline that is in place under the contracts between his Department and the national car testing service; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [25031/22]

The operation of the National Car Test (NCT) service is the statutory responsibility of the Road Safety Authority. My Department is not party to the contractual arrangements between the NCTS and the Authority and accordingly I have therefore referred the question to the Authority for direct reply.

I would ask the Deputy to contact my office if a response has not been received within ten days.

61. To ask the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport if consideration will be given to implement a policy similar to that in the United Kingdom in which car garages with capacity to carry out car tests can do so in order to tackle the lengthy delays in obtaining a national car test; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
