To ask the Tánaiste and Minister for Justice and Equality the number of electric vehicles andor hybrid vehicles in the allocation of ministerial vehicles that are vehicles from the Garda fleet; and if she will provide the make and model of all vehicles of same by the year registration. The Deputy will be aware that, under the Garda Síochána Act 2005 (as amended), the Garda Commissioner is responsible for the management and administration of An Garda Síochána. The allocation of Garda resources is a matter for the Commissioner, in light of identified operational demands. As Minister, I have no role in these independent functions. I am assured, however, that Garda management keeps the distribution of resources under continual review in the context of crime trends and policing priorities, to ensure their optimum use. 

The Garda authorities inform me that, as of 26 April 2022, the Garda fleet includes an allocation of 17 Ministerial vehicles, 3 of which are electric/hybrid vehicles, with one further allocation of a fully electric vehicle planned for the near future.

The following table sets out the make/model, fuel type and year of registration for allocated Ministerial vehicles.
