282. To ask the Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform the steps he has taken to improve ventilation for staff who work in the basement area of a building (details supplied); if his attention has been drawn to the fact that the basement area has no mechanical ventilation; if a HEPA air cleaning and-or purification system will be installed in the building before it fully opens to the general public on health and safety grounds; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The Office of Public Works is aware of the concerns raised by staff in relation to air quality at the reception area of the Swiss Cottage.

The OPW is committed to providing safe workplaces for all of its staff at all times. I am pleased to advise that arrangements are currently in hand to install new, temporary welfare facilities for staff at Swiss Cottage in order to address the issues raised and it is expected this work will be completed in the coming weeks.
