173. To ask the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport if his attention has been drawn to a proposal by the Dublin Airport Authority to impose a drop-off charge for persons being brought to the airport in a private vehicle; if this action requires Government approval; and if he will make a statement on the matter. I can confirm to the Deputy that I am aware of the proposal by the daa to impose a drop-off charge.  The daa has statutory responsibility to operate, manage and develop Dublin Airport and this matter is an operational matter for the company. It does not require Government approval.
