I propose to take Questions Nos. 853 and 987 together.

As the issue raised by the Deputies is an operational matter for the NMBI, I have asked NMBI to respond directly to the Deputies in that regard.

854. To ask the Minister for Health his views that it is fair for the HSE to have a policy of only hiring general nurses for clinical nurse specialist roles; the reason highly trained intellectual disability nurses are being overlooked for these roles; and if he will make a statement on the matter. This is an operational matter and one on which the Deputy will receive a direct response.
