To ask the Minister for Health if his attention has been drawn to the fact that patients recently admitted to the Mater Misercordiae University Hospital were transferred to the Mater Private Hospital without being informed that they would be charged for care in the private hospital; if his attention has been further drawn to the fact that these patients were led to believe that transfer between the public and private hospital was a routine part of their public care in order to circumvent overcrowding in the Mater public hospital; if his attention has been further drawn to the fact that these patients have been issued with bills for that care and are being threatened with legal action if they do not pay; the steps that his Department will take to address the matter; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
