To ask the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine if he will provide the forestry statistics indicating the level of afforestation and the amount of broadleaf afforestation by local electoral area further to an engagement in Dáil Éireann during the Animal Health and Welfare and Forestry (Miscellaneous Provisions) Bill 2021 Report Stage debate; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine collates a wide range of forestry statistics including the area of forests established each year nationally. In the course of engagements in Dáil Éireann during the Animal Health and Welfare and Forestry (Miscellaneous Provisions) Bill 2021 report stage, I was asked to provide information on the amount of broadleaf forestry by local electoral area. This information will be provided to the Deputy and a report, as requested, by local electoral area will be prepared. I expect this report to be available in March 2022.
