237. To ask the Minister for Communications, Climate Action and Environment if he will consider designating Lough Ennell as a wild brown trout fishery in the western lakes plan; if his attention has been drawn to the fact that this lake is one of the finest brown trout fishing lakes in Europe and that the status needs to be preserved; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Inland Fisheries Ireland (IFI) have, at my request, set out a draft Management Plan specifically for the 7 Western Lakes, in the context of the Programme for Government. Management of other waters may be considered separately. Management is a day to day operational matter for IFI and they will be happy to address the Deputy's queries on Lough Ennell in that context. IFI has established a specific email address for queries from Oireachtas members so that such queries can be addressed promptly, in line with IFI's objective to deliver services to the highest standards. The email address is oireachtas@fisheriesireland.ie
