369. To ask the Minister for Education and Skills the buildings currently in use by Longford Westmeath Education Training Board that are either owned, leased or rented on a full or part-time basis which have been assessed as having asbestos in the buildings; and the actions that have been taken to ensure the health and safety of employees and former employees to assess the health impact that asbestos had in counties Longford and Westmeath in tabular form. An official from my Department has been in contact with Longford and Westmeath ETB (LWETB) on foot of the Deputy’s question.
LWETB has confirmed that each of the buildings listed in the table below was the subject of a report which identified the existence of asbestos in the property and specified one or more remedial actions to be taken.
These reports date from 2005 to 2019 and detailed information regarding individual actions is not readily to hand. LWETB has confirmed to my Department that the remedial action(s) identified in each report have been implemented in full.
