To ask the Minister for Health the reason there is no designated post of chief social worker in the HSE given the range of critical roles that social workers perform across the health sector and related services and particularly in the context of a series of adult safeguarding failings and inquiries such as cases (details supplied) in addition to the fact that social work is the lead frontline profession in such matters; if he will consider making arrangements for such an appointment as a matter of urgency; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
