Under the Health Act 2004, as amended, the HSE is responsible for the provision of health and personal social services including addiction services. The HSE either directly provides such services or arranges to have them provided directly on its behalf through service level arrangements.

As the correspondence relating to this parliamentary question relates to operational and contractual matters between the organisation referred to by the Deputy and the HSE, it is not appropriate for me to comment on it.

I have asked the HSE to review this matter and to engage with the organisation. I have been assured that the HSE will continue to work closely with the organisation to ensure a sustainable future for its services.
