529. To ask the Minister for Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth if St. Kyran’s in Rathcoole, County Wicklow was included in investigations regarding mother and baby homes; if the files from this institution were handed over to the State; if so, if they are with his Department or Tusla; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The institution to which the Deputy refers is not one the institutions examined by the Commission of Investigation (Mother and Baby Homes and certain related Matters).

I understand that St. Kyran's was an Industrial School for Junior Boys, located in Rathdrum, Co. Wicklow and was included in the Schedule of eligible institutions for the Residential Institutions Redress Act 2002. The Deputy may wish to direct her query to my colleague, the Minister for Education and Science, as I am advised that her Department holds some records in relation to this institution.
