65. To ask the Minister for Communications, Climate Action and Environment further to Parliamentary Question No. 147 of 15 July 2021, if his Department monitors or collects data on mobile phone coverage on either a county or on a State-wide basis; and if he will make a statement on the matter. As I outlined in my response to Question No. 147 of 15 July, the provision of telecommunication services, including mobile phone and broadband services, is a matter for the relevant service providers operating in a fully liberalised market regulated by the Commission for Communication Regulation (ComReg), as independent Regulator. While my Department does not collect data on mobile coverage, the Regulator (ComReg) does and has used this data to develop a national outdoor coverage map (available at coveragemap.comreg.ie/map), which is a useful tool for all consumers to use to make the best choice of network provider.
