To ask the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport when Irish Rail will carry out the remedial works urgently required at Lacken Drive, the Railway Bridge and O’Loughlin Road, Kilkenny; if the matter will be expedited given the extensive health and safety issues that have arisen over the past 18 months along the adjoining pedestrian walkway; and if he will make a statement on the matter. As the Minister for Transport, I have responsibility for policy and overall funding in relation to public transport. However, I am not involved in the day-to-day operations of public transport.

The issue raised is an operational matter for Iarnród Éireann and I have forwarded the Deputy's question to the company for direct reply.
