940. To ask the Minister for Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth if he will extend the scope of the Irish Human Rights and Equality Commission Act 2014 to include the bodies under his aegis or the publicly funded bodies of the IPA and the ESRI that are not covered by the Act; and if he will make a statement on the matter. I understand the Deputy's question to relate to the obligations placed on public bodies within the meaning of that term under the Irish Human Rights and Equality Commission Act 2014, and in particular under section 42 of the Act which established the Public Sector Equality and Human Rights Duty. I have no plans at present to prescribe additional organisations financed wholly or partly out of moneys provided by the Oireachtas as public bodies for this purpose. The range of public bodies encompassed by the definition in the 2014 Act and by the consequent obligations is already quite broad.
