162. To ask the Minister for Communications, Climate Action and Environment his plans to ensure a glass collection service is made available throughout the State by all private domestic waste operators; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [29446/21]

In 2018, the most recent year for which data is currently available, Ireland's recycling rate for glass was 82%, well above the EU Packaging Directive targets of 70% by 2025 and 75% by 2030. For further information please see .  Given how well the current system is operating in relation to glass recycling, there are no plans to mandate the provision of a household glass collection service.
