166. To ask the Minister for Education and Skills if he will consider liaising with Irish third-level institutions on contingency plans for study abroad programmes that are due to begin in September 2021 in view of the fact that visa appointments at the relevant embassies are delayed (details supplied). The issue raised by the Deputy refers to the visa processing arrangements of another State. This is a matter for the Embassy of the country concerned, who should be able to advise on the appropriate action to take in these circumstances. I have, however, drawn the attention of the Department of Foreign Affairs to the general issue.
