226. To ask the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport if he will consider extending the validity on foreign driver licences due to the backlog of driver tests as a result of Covid-19 (details supplied). [21469/21]

Ireland can not extend the validity of a driving licence issued by another licensing authority in another State.

A person resident in Ireland must have an Irish/EU driving licence to drive here.
