My Department does not maintain a list of the facilities referred to and this would appear to be a matter for the relevant local authorities in the first instance.

In relation to my Department’s role, the Sports Capital and Equipment Programme (SCEP) is the primary vehicle for Government support for the development of sports and recreation facilities and the purchase of non-personal sports equipment throughout the country. It is open to any organisation with a suitable sporting project, including a local authority, to apply for funding. Details of previous allocations under the programme can be found at

In the longer term, Sport Ireland is currently rolling out a project to develop a National Database of Sport & Recreation Amenities including the facilities referred to by the Deputy. This is progressing, with a two-year plan laid out towards full implementation.
