To ask the Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform if discussions have taken place within his Department on providing funding for a feasibility study of the railway line from Navan, County Meath to Kingscourt, County Cavan; if will consider the matter; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The issue of a feasibility study is a matter for the Department of Transport in the first instance.
My Department understands from the Department of Transport that Iarnród Éireann (IÉ) has no plans to undertake a feasibility study of the railway line at this time.
