To ask the Minister for Health if he will initiate a recruitment campaign for paediatric rheumatologists; if his attention has been drawn to the fact that there are two paediatric rheumatologists serving the entire population; if his attention has been further drawn to the waiting list to access the expertise of a paediatric rheumatologist here; the reason for permitting this situation to prevail; and if he will make contact with a person (details supplied) in respect of correspondence sent to him which remains unanswered to date. In relation to the particular query raised, as this is a service matter, I have asked the Health Service Executive to respond to the Deputy directly, as soon as possible.
