210. To ask the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport if he will engage with the Taxi Regulator with regard to the requirement to ensure that vehicles for taxi purposes are under a certain age in view of the impact of Covid-19 on the business; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The regulation of the small public service vehicle (SPSV) sector, including age limits for vehicles, is a matter for the independent regulator, the National Transport Authority (NTA), under the provisions of the Taxi Regulation Act 2013.

Given the role of the NTA as regulator, I have referred your question to the Authority for direct reply to you. Please advise my private office if you do not receive a response within 10 working days.
