To ask the Minister for Health the steps being taken to improve the ambulance service in Connemara, particularly in the more remote areas of west and north Connemara; the effect of the improvements to date on the waiting times for ambulances, particularly in acute cases; if it is planned to locate a new base in a central location in Connemara (details supplied); and if he will make a statement on the matter. As this is a service matter I have asked the Health Service Executive to respond to the Deputy directly, as soon as possible.
