To ask the Minister for Health if his attention has been drawn to women suffering from hyperemesis gravidarum repeatedly presenting at accident and emergency departments as they are unable to afford to pay for their prescriptions to alleviate the symptoms of same; and if he will make a statement on the matter. To ask the Minister for Health if unlicensed prescription medications are available on the drugs payment scheme in circumstances in which licensed versions are not currently available or marketed in Ireland; and if licensed medications for hyperemesis gravidarum are currently available and marketed in Ireland. To ask the Minister for Health if his attention has been drawn to the fact that an application for Xonvea was rejected for inclusion on the drugs payment scheme by the HSE on the advice of the National Centre for Pharmacoeconomics, NCPE, which determined that the medicine is not good value for money and that comes at a higher cost than other ways to manage this condition (details supplied); and the other ways of managing hyperemesis gravidarum that were assessed by the HSE and NCPE.
