55. To ask the Minister for Communications, Climate Action and Environment the degree to which various specimens of fish caught in Irish waters have been tested for levels of microplastics; the measures taken or due to be taken to address the issues arising; and if he will make a statement on the matter. I have no role nor responsibility in the testing of fish for microplastics.  This is a matter for my colleagues the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine and the Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage who has responsibility for issues relating to the marine environment, including implementation of the Marine Strategy Framework Directive.
