587. To ask the Minister for Education and Skills the engagement he had with Minister for the Economy, Diane Dodds and the Department for Economy in Northern Ireland on the Erasmus+ scheme and its extension to students in Northern Ireland beyond Brexit; and if he will make a statement on the matter. In October 2020, I had a productive virtual meeting with Minister Dodds, who has responsibility for further and higher education policy in Northern Ireland, where I advised the Minister of the Government's decision to ensure that Northern Ireland students could continue to access the Erasmus programme.

Officials in my Department are now engaging with institutions in Northern Ireland, and Minister Dodd's Department is being kept apprised of this work. I hope to meet Minister Dodds again in the near future.
