257. To ask the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine if puppy training facilities come under animal welfare and related services as per the list of essential services under level 5 restrictions. [6194/21]

Under level 5 COVID-19 restrictions, the Government has advised that people should stay at home except where absolutely necessary, for example, where travelling to and from work where the work is considered an essential service.

Animal health or welfare concerns in this context would include those provided for in the Animal Health and Welfare Act 2013, and do not extend to routine puppy training classes.
