46. To ask the Minister for Communications, Climate Action and Environment the reason for the disparity in pension increases and general increases in pay of retired established civil servants who served in the Department of Posts and Telegraphs up to 1 January 1984 (details supplied); his views on whether this is inequitable; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The legislation underpinning the superannuation scheme referred to requires that any increases in pensions are authorised by the Minister for the Environment, Climate and Communications and the Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform.

However, the issue raised is a matter of pensions policy, which is a matter for the Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform.
