The Deputy may wish to be aware that the regulation of the small public service vehicle (SPSV) industry, including the issuance of Local Area Hackney licences and the operation of the Designated Local Area Hackney pilot scheme, is a matter for the National Transport Authority (NTA) under the provisions of the Taxi Regulation Act 2013.

In light of the NTA's responsibilities in this matter, I have referred your question to the NTA for direct reply to you. Please advise my private office if you do not receive a reply within ten working days.
