To ask the Minister for Health the reason a suitable location for a community alcohol treatment service has not be secured (details supplied); the way the allocated funding for the inoperative service is being used; if he has engaged with the HSE regarding resumption of this service; when he expects this service to recommence; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Additional funding of €3m was provided for the implementation of the National Drugs Strategy in 2020. In June 2020, €225,779 of this funding was provided to the HSE for the development of a community alcohol service in Galway.
As this is a service matter, I have asked the Health Service Executive to respond to the deputy directly, as soon as possible.
