The programme for government includes a commitment to investigate provision of paid leave and social protection to victims of domestic violence.

The provision of statutory leave is not a matter for my Department. Family leave, force majeure leave and other similar provisions under the Organisation of Working Time Act 1997 fall under the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment. I note that the Organisation of Working Time (Domestic Violence Leave) Bill 2020 relating to this matter is currently before the Dáil at second stage.

I trust that this clarifies the position for the deputy.
