To ask the Minister for Housing, Planning, and Local Government when it is expected to publish the report of the independent advisory group on the issue of a directly elected mayor for Limerick city; when it is expected that the heads of a Bill to legislate for this will be published; and if he will make a statement on the matter. I refer to question 122 of 24 November 2020 which outlines the steps I intend to take in relation to the drafting of legislation to allow for the establishment of the office of directly elected Mayor in Limerick and the holding of a mayoral election in 2021.
It is my intention to publish the report of the Implementation Advisory Group (IAG) for the directly elected mayor with executive functions for Limerick once it has been considered by Government.
