Under the terms of the EU UK Withdrawal Agreement UK pensioners, for whom the UK is competent under EU Regulation 883/2004, and who are resident in another EU Member State before the end of the transition period on 31st December 2020, will continue to have their rights under this Regulation maintained. Such persons will, therefore, if they remain ordinarily resident in this State, and are not in receipt of an Irish contributory social security payment or making a social security contribution, continue to have eligibility for a non-means tested medical card issued under the EU Regulations.
