To ask the Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade if his attention has been drawn to the case of an Iranian diplomat charged in Belgium with planning to bomb an Iranian opposition rally in France; if the matter has been discussed at European Council level; and if he will make a statement on the matter. I propose to take Questions Nos. 407 and 414 together.

In relation to the case raised by the Deputy, I am aware of reports about it. I condemn in the strongest terms any attempts to commit violence or acts of terrorism. However, as the situation is subject to an ongoing criminal investigation in another jurisdiction, it would be inappropriate for me to comment any further on the matter.
