To ask the Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade if he will report on the 2018 survey of the way in which other countries operated their election observation programmes; the objectives of this survey; the countries that returned surveys; the findings relating to politicians on the rosters; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Information received in confidence from foreign Governments on their election observation programmes remains confidential, unless released publicly by the originating authorities in accordance with their own regulations or legislation. It would be a breach of the principle of trust in international relations with other countries or international organisations to release such information.
