As Minister for Transport, I have responsibility for policy and overall funding in relation to public transport. The National Transport Authority (NTA) has statutory responsibility for the planning and development of public transport infrastructure, including the provision of park and ride facilities.

During the summer I met with Galway City Council to discuss the July Stimulus funding and the roll-out of new and improved active travel infrastructure. Since then I have met with members of both the Galway City Council and Galway County Council Transport Strategic Policy Committees to discuss the progress of the Galway Transport Strategyincluding the provision of strategic park and ride facilities.
